"I am the vine, you are the branches. The one who remains in me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without me." — John 15:5
Firsts can be nerve-wracking.
The first time traveling alone. The first time leaving your kids. The first time trusting God with the unknown and showing up anyway.
Our May 2024 pilgrimage to Zion was full of firsts — including the very first Active Abundance pilgrimage ever.
She Stepped Out in Faith
When Lisa began planning this gathering, she didn't have all the answers. She didn't have all the logistics worked out when she opened up registration. She didn't know who would show up.
But she stepped out in faith and took the first step of obedience in her calling — to walk alongside women through their wilderness seasons. She waited on God and heeded the Holy Spirit.
And God showed up.
He led 4 incredible women to join the pilgrimage. He brought 2 volunteers to assist in hospitality and driving. He provided a spirit-filled teacher to co-teach with Lisa. But most of all, God himself was present.
"We may have arrived as strangers with a text chain and a few Zoom calls between us. We left as friends — forever connected through the healing that began in our hearts on the trail."
— Pilgrim, May 2024 · Zion National Park
More Than a Schedule
Our days together were thoughtfully crafted. Balancing group time with sacred space alone with God.
On paper, a typical day looked like this: Morning nourishment · Teaching · Afternoon hike · Evening worship
But each moment held far more than what any agenda could capture.
Some of us encountered God on the trail. Some through quiet conversations in the stillness of the evening. Some while sitting alone with Him in the breathtaking Zion landscape.
We ate together, learned together, hiked together, laughed together, cried together, prayed together.
God's glory surrounded us in the spectacular canyon views, in the peaks, in the valleys, in the sunrise, and in the crisp morning air. His glory was also seen in the hearts of the leaders and in the eagerness of every woman there to draw closer to Him.
Your pilgrimage is waiting.
